What chemical sanitizers do you guys use in your cold plunge?
We have been exprementing with both Hydrogen Peroxide and Bromine. HP is easy to use since it is PH neutral however it has a much shorter half life comparing to Bromine. You need to dose the water once or twice a week. Bromine is more potent and last longer. The effects of one tablet can last for 3 to 4 weeks in your cold plunge or ice bath. With Bromine you barely get that layer of algea on the surface of your cold plunge. However you need to test the water once in a while with test strips. Once you test it for a few weeks you really know if the PH would drop too much or not. With one tablet every 3 to 4 weeks, the PH in our water stays in the right range but that depends on the original PH of your tab water. It's not that complicated.
I have been using bromine table in my cold plunge. They are great. I drop one tablet in the tub and it lasts for a month as I used to test with test strips when I started.
I have an Ozone generator in my set up that I run for 30-40 minutes a day and also add some Hydogen Peroxide weekly to my ice bath.
Here you go
I pour about 25 to 30mm in my tub on weekly basis
I found a H2O2 calculator in the ICE Nation app
